According to financial disclosure filings, Natalie Harp and two other White House officials received cash gifts totaling $45,000 from President Donald Trump.

In their yearly executive branch disclosure forms made public by the White House, Harp and the other two female aides described the money as a "cash gift for the holidays." Harp's intimate friendship with Trump has come under severe scrutiny in recent weeks.

According to publicly available White House documents, Harp and the other aides, including communications advisor Margo Martin and deputy director of Oval Office operations Chamberlain Harris, each receive an annual salary of $150,000.

"The President has a longstanding practice of giving Christmas gifts to people in his orbit, including at times employees and aides, both in government and in his time in the private sector," the White House press office said in a statement regarding the president's monetary gifts to the three aides.

According to the statement, "the gifts at issue here have nothing to do with any of these individuals' official government duties and, therefore, are entirely permissible under relevant legal and ethical standards."

Harp, a 35-year-old former far-right TV journalist, came under further scrutiny after Sen. Jon Ossoff specifically highlighted her in a now-viral speech criticizing Trump. The Georgia Democrat made fun of the president's "travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the Emir of Qatar," referring to her and a small group of people who accompanied him when he surreptitiously boarded a smaller plane to flee Turkey in July due to an Iranian threat.

Since joining Trump's administration in 2022, Harp has been devoted to the president, often typing his Truth Social posts as he dictates them to her. Allies have dubbed her the "human printer" since she has followed him around the nation, providing him with encouraging tales, social media updates, and other correspondence on a regular basis.

The cash presents were initially reported by the Washington Post.

The president also gave longtime Trump aide Walt Nauta a "gift for holidays." According to his financial disclosure declaration, he received $20,000 from the president.

Before the case was dropped, Nauta was charged in relation to Trump's handling of sensitive documents.
